Frequently asked questions

How do I book a time?

The easiest way is to book an appointment yourself using our online booking. You can also book a time by calling us on 09 58 400 300, or via chat on our website.

I did not receive a confirmation email message. What should I do?

If you have not received a message, check your spam/junk mail folder. Please note that there may be a small delay in the arrival of the message.

How can I change or cancel my appointment?

Up 12 hours before your booked appointment, you are free to change your booking to another time slot with the same booking fee. The appointment confirmation email includes a link which you can use for changing and cancelling appointments. You can also cancel your appointment by sending an email to info@hyggasolutions.com. However, we will not refund the booking fee for a cancelled appointment.

I do not have a Finnish personal identity number. Can I still book a time?

Unfortunately, you cannot book a time online if you do not have a Finnish ID number, but we can make an appointment for you by phone or via our chat service.

Can I pay with cash?

We do not handle cash payments at our reception. You can pay the treatment fee using a Finnish debit card, or by Visa Electron, credit card or Apple Pay.

Do I need to bring a Kela card with me, or will a European Health Insurance Card be sufficient?

To obtain a direct reimbursement, you must bring your Kela card with you. Unfortunately, a European Health Insurance Card does not entitle the holder to Kela compensation.

I have already paid the booking fee, do I still have to pay for treatment?

The booking fee does not cover any treatment costs. Before starting treatment, the dentist or dental hygienist will go through the treatment plan and the related cost estimate, i.e. no unexpected costs arise at our clinic. Examples of treatment prices are given on our price list.

How can I obtain a referral for a dental hygienist to remove tartar?

You can obtain a referral after an oral and dental checkup performed by a dentist. If necessary, the dental hygienist will be brought into the room at the beginning of your treatment, in order to draw up a referral. If you have had a checkup at another private clinic, you can bring your referral for a dental hygienist with you and there is no need for another checkup.

Can I make an appointment with the same dentist or dental hygienist next time?

Our dentists and hygienists do not have their own appointment books. Patients are always allocated to the first dentist or dental hygienist who is free to treat them. Because your treatment plan is saved in our patient information system, treatment will continue as planned, even if the dentist or dental hygienist changes.

Does Hygga handle demanding procedures, such as challenging surgical tooth extractions or implants requiring synthetic bone augmentation?

Yes, we do. A specialist dentist and other dentists performs challenging surgical procedures at Hygga.

Is general anaesthesia available for dental procedures performed at Hygga?

Unfortunately, this is not possible. This is because certain arrangements and precautions, which we cannot provide, are required for dental care involving general anaesthesia. However, we can provide pre-medication if someone accompanies you at the reception.

I have active cold sore (oral herpes), can I obtain dental care?

Unfortunately, we cannot treat a customer whose cold sore has not fully healed. If you have already booked a time, you can move it back to a later time.

Why can’t I choose the dentist or dental hygienist who will treat me?

Our operating model is based on modern enterprise resource planning, enabling us to tailor each day's flow of patients to individual care needs. Such flexibility is based on the next patient being treated by the first dentist or dental hygienist who becomes free. However, in the case of specialist treatments and longer treatment periods, such as root canal treatment, we try to continue the treatment with the dentist who started it.

Why do the prices of fillings vary so much?

The price of each filling is determined by the extent of the area to be filled. The dentist will discuss the filling area with you, i.e. the area may be the size of one, two or three fillings, or may require a full crown. The price of a filling is also affected by whether local anesthesia is used, the size of the anesthetised area, and whether the cavity is deep i.e. whether additional procedures are needed. Detailed prices can be found in our price list.

Why does the price list not include prices for the repair of a broken tooth?

The dentist will treat a cracked tooth with a filling or crown, i.e. you can estimate the price based on the filling prices.
