Hygga is part of the Aster project

Hygga is part of the Aster project led by the Central Finland Hospital District. The project is about developing a new health care and social services system. The new digital platform will support the delivery of enhanced health and social care services, providing citizens a better access to care. In the project, Hygga is responsible for the delivery of the dental health care patient information system and the Hygga Flow ERP system.

In addition to the Central Finland Hospital District, the project involves associations of social and health services in South Savo and North Karelia, as well as the Vaasa Hospital District. The main supplier of the system in the project is Cerner Ireland Limited, which is subcontracted by Hygga and IBM.

The goal of the Aster customer and patient information system is to improve the customer service experience by improving customers’ and patients’ digital services and strengthening customers’ self-care opportunities. In addition, the aim is to streamline the day-to-day work of social and health care professionals and to support co-operation between different professionals to better meet the changing needs of clients. With the new system, customers can be treated more holistically on both the social and health care sides.

“This is a very significant clientele and project for Hygga, where we will be able to demonstrate the pioneering development of clinical process expertise and digital tools on a large scale.” – Atte Niittylä, Executive Vice President Hygga Oy

“The Aster project has officially launched in September 2020 with a year-long planning project aimed at mapping the functionalities of the future system as well as local needs. Hygga is closely involved in the project, both in planning the interoperability of the system in different sectors together with Cerner and IBM, and in mapping the needs of the oral health units in the areas involved in the project. The project is a unique opportunity to develop Hygga’s digital solutions to be even more versatile.” – Eeva Saarelainen, Project Manager Hygga Oy
